WELCOME TO THE TIFF 2026 APPLICATION PROCESS FOR MEDIA ACCREDITATION
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE CONTINUING:

Your application must be submitted by 8pm EDT on July 8, 2026. NO EXCEPTIONS

Unsubmitted or partially filled forms ARE NOT saved in the system. Please make sure you have all required info before starting the application.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at media@tiff.net before continuing.

NEW FOR 2026

  1. If you are writing for more than one outlet, enter details about the second/additional outlet in the text box.
  2. Your assignment letter, supporting material, and additional info to support your application must be updated for the year.
  3. Use your legal first and last names on those fields on the application form, so that our records match the ID you would use to pick up your pass, should you be accredited.
  4. If you identify professionally with a nickname or stage name that is different from your legal ID name, there is a field to enter it for use on your pass, if approved.
  5. For returning media using a pre-filled form:
    • With changes to the form this year, please carefully check your information before submitting.
    • Your pre-filled form may have some fields that will need to be filled out before submitting.
    • Your assignment letter, supporting material, and additional info to support your application must be updated for the year.
    • If returning media need to update their name fields to match their legal IDs, please email the Media Accreditation team with the names used, names to use, email, outlet, and application submission ID.

REQUESTING ACCESS TO COVER RED CARPETS
If you wish to request red carpet access at the Festival this year, you must check that off on the relevant question on this form (“Planned coverage - What access are you seeking at the Festival?”). In the coming weeks, media whose response to that question included “red carpet coverage access” will be sent a secondary required form to provide further information to streamline the red carpet request process. Due to space constraints on red carpets, we will not be able to approve all requests for red carpet coverage access.

PROCESS FOR RETURNING MEDIA

  1. If you were accredited last year, enter your first name, last name, and the email address you were accredited under in 2025.
  2. If a matching record is found, a pop-up will offer to send you an email with a personal custom link to update the form. Click Yes to receive it or click No to fill out the blank form.
  3. If you click Yes, a personal custom link will be sent to your registered email address; please check your spam folder if you can’t find the email in your inbox.
  4. That link will take you to a 2026 application form pre-filled with the information from the 2025 application.
  5. You must update your details to reflect 2026, answer any new, changed, or required questions, and press submit at the bottom of the form to make sure that your completed application is submitted.
  6. You must hit submit after reviewing and revising the form. If you do not press submit on the updated pre-filled form, we will not receive your 2026 media accreditation request. Partial and incomplete applications are not saved and not entered into the system.

ABOUT THE APPLICATION FORM

  • Please answer all questions with as much detail as possible.
  • For multiple individuals from the same outlet or platform: each individual person requires their own submitted application form. The system requires a unique email address per person; you cannot use the same email address on forms for multiple people.
  • All video crew members (camera, sound, etc) will need media accreditation in order to access red carpets. If you anticipate that you may need to assign different crew members across multiple nights, please submit applications for all individuals. TIFF does not issue generic press badges that can be shared.
  • Upon submitting a complete application form, an email acknowledging receipt of the application will be sent to the registered email address. Please save this email as it will contain your Applicant ID # which you may need at a later time.
  • Please note that submitting an application and receiving an application confirmation (including a Confirmation ID) does not guarantee your accreditation nor indicate that accreditation has been granted. You will receive a separate communication should your accreditation be granted.

REQUIRED MATERIALS

  • A pass photo is required for your application to be submitted. Please ensure your photo is readily available before beginning your application process and note the specifications carefully in order to upload successfully. Photos must be in colour, under 1 MB, in jpg format. No sunglasses or hats. Only your head and shoulders should be in the frame. Photos that do not meet these requirements will be rejected and you will need to provide a new image.
  • A letter from your editor/producer on official company letterhead, assigning you to cover the Festival. This letter should include the focus of your coverage during the Festival in as much detail as possible. You may either upload your letter as a PDF document or provide a URL.
  • It is mandatory to submit at least two supporting materials as part of this application in the form of a PDF document or a URL (Google Drive, YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, website). Please ensure these are available and ready to submit before beginning this application.
  • For Google Drive links: you must make sure the access permissions for the file or folder allow us to open it. Please adjust the share setting so anyone with the link can open it.

Please note:
Media accreditation is subject to TIFF’s Media Accreditation Rules & Regulations, as amended by TIFF from time to time in its sole discretion, and available at https://accreditedmedia.tiff.net/accreditation-rules-regulations, and is granted at the sole discretion of TIFF Communications based on numerous factors. TIFF reserves the right to issue, deny, suspend, modify, and/or revoke accreditation in its sole discretion, for any reason and at any time, including any rights, privileges, benefits, or access associated with media accreditation. Previous accreditation does not guarantee future accreditation, including for the 2026 Festival. Anyone wishing to be accredited for the 2026 Festival must submit an application and must do so regardless of their accreditation history. Please note that media accreditation does not guarantee you access to any particular area, location, venue, event, or individual(s) (including talent). Each individual granted media accreditation shall comply with TIFF’s Code of Conduct (tiff.net/code-of-conduct).
